Until recently, researchers and clinicians naturally assumed that ovarian cancer arose from the ovaries; however, various clinico-pathological, molecular, genetic, epigenetic, transcriptomic, and proteomic studies have provided compelling evidence that the majority of HGSCs originate from precursor lesions of the fallopian tube, termed Serous Tubal Intraepithelial Carcinomas (STICs).
The STIC Registry is a collection of biospecimens, clinical information, interventions, and outcomes for women with STICs at the time of fallopian tube removal.
If you would like to know more, please send questions to STICRegistry@mdanderson.org
